Aimhigher - Hampshire and Isle of Wight

Aimhigher is a government-funded partnership of universities, schools, colleges and other organisations, such as Education Business Partnerships, the NHS, and Local Authorities. Aimhigher activities are aimed at young people who have the potential to go on to higher education (HE) but are from groups currently under- represented in HE, such as care leavers, young people with disabilities, and those from areas where the number of young people staying on in education is well below average.

In Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Aimhigher activities include:

  • Campus visits - see for yourself what goes on within a university.
  • Residential Summer Schools - experience student life, workshops and stay in halls of residence overnight.
  • Masterclasses and taster days - boost your understanding of your chosen subjects
  • Mentoring programmes - 1-2-1 and small group work, focusing on study skills and future plans.
  • Information and guidance to potential students, their teachers and families on issues such as financial support student life and where studying might lead you.
